Exp2-Week3-Design Concepts

Imagine the only way that I can communicate with the two clients is through space. I want my ideas direct, so most of the prisms of my architecture will be in positive space.

The space for Issac Newton will be formed by cubes, because I believe that cubes are more close to the perfection of nature. As we know that planets tend to be spheres, that means design of nature is more likely to be equal-length.

On the Freud side, prisms are long and extending, from a perspective view they show strong feeling of distance and suggests his deep thinking into psychology.

Linking the laboratories together, is a extending negative space combined by two crossed vertical and horizontal prisms. A cross-shaped narrow space in between is created.

This idea is suggested by my study into natural caves, where nature plays with interior space, which are not to human proportion, but beautiful because of the layering of space.

My final design would be large in scale, where two scientists can walk and explore. It will be like floating and inlayed in nature. There will be no support from nature, in fact the architecture is self is the skeleton of the landscape.

Two scientists will start their trip togethr, but through different ways. Soon or later, they will be on their own ways exploring the space, landforms and materials surrounding them will give inspiration for them.

Two of them would meet on the top of my snowy-caped montain, which is the highest altitude of this island. (Because the clients have already passed away, servise for aged people don't have to be considered, they will just climb to the top by themselves) On the top of the mountian, there will be a special designed sculpture for them to sit on and communicate.
